Method 06 of 07

Breathing & Mindfulness

When you feel wound up before beginning. A gentler way to settle into a session.

06.

How to try it

Use this method as a starting point and adjust it to your real situation.

  1. Place both feet on the floor if comfortable, and notice your surroundings.
  2. Take a few steady, natural breaths without forcing a particular pattern.
  3. Name one manageable study action for the next few minutes.
  4. Begin that action. Change approach or seek appropriate support if distress persists.
Imagine this

Before opening an assignment, you might spend a minute settling yourself and then write its first heading. This is not a medical intervention.

Check what stuck

If you used the method to study content, try explaining one thing you learned without looking at your notes. The aim is to find your next step, not to judge yourself by a score.
